Statistical studies are the basis for most decisions on mobility infrastructure. Their impact on extremely important and costly resolutions is therefore very important.
The confederation collects most of the data used for these studies with the micro-census of mobility and transport, which is carried out every 5 years.
Mobitrends staff participated in the micro-census first as employees of the Federal Office for Spatial Development, then as the team responsible for the analysis of the 2010 data on behalf of the Federal Office for Spatial Development, and finally in numerous studies based on these data.
The available data can be integrated, if necessary, with the data collected ad hoc with our mobility study application.
Our studies have been prepared for various federal offices, the Cantons of Aargau, Basel-Stadt, Freiburg, Graubünden, Ticino and Zurich, the Cities of Lugano, Winterthur and Zurich, as well as for public transport companies and research projects.
The City of Zurich wants to measure its energy consumption related to mobility in order to be able to follow the development of its energy saving programme for 2020. Mobitrends has used various data sources to produce a model that estimates the development of energy consumption linked to mobility over the past five years with unprecedented accuracy.
